Sponsored by the Nutrition & Health Studies and Environment, Society, & Sustainability Departments, this interdepartmental minor offers students the opportunity to explore the interdisciplinary challenges and opportunities to achieving a sustainable food system.

Food and Nutrition

The minor requires that students take a minimum of four (4) courses outside of their major subject area. Only one (1) course may be taken within the student’s major subject area. Courses in the minor may also be used to fulfill general education requirements. To complete the course residency requirement for a minor, a minimum of three (3) course-credits (12 semester hours) in the minor must be taken at Framingham State University.

The minor requires five (5) courses as follows:

Accounting, Economics, and Finance

Biology

Chemistry and Food Science

Communication, Media, and Performance:

Computer Science

English

Environment, Society, & Sustainability:

Food and Nutrition

Psychology and Philosophy

Sociology and Criminology
